I first met ‘the Legend’ Roger when I took over the site as an addition to the North East as the Regional Security manager, People say first impressions last and it is true. Within 10 minutes of speaking to Roger I immediately knew this man would become a friend Professional, capable and humble. Our professional conversations always turned to family which was Rogers priority and I adored that. I will miss the story’s from ‘back in the day’ as Roger called it, I thought police had no sense of humour! Ha my perception was wrong. Some of Rogers jokes was so bad I could not help but laugh and he knew it looking at me with his big cheesy smile.
One that is so bad I will always remember – An old lady was knitting as she drove. A police officer drove up alongside her and yelled “Pull over” The lady yelled back “No—they’re mittens”
Roger you will always hold a piece of my heart, I am blessed to have met you and at the same time I dammed for not meeting you sooner! Have that milky sweet tea and them biscuits ready for when we meet again my friend.
